Update: If you weren't one of the lucky few who scored Travis Scott's Space Rage perfume and candle collab with Byredo back in December, consider this your second and final chance. The space-inspired scent is getting restocked one more time at noon today on BYREDO.com and TravisScott.com, as well as select BYREDO boutiques nationwide. The last batch sold out in three hours, and the brand expects this next drop to go even faster than the first.

Credit: ByredoOriginal: Just when we thought Byredo founder Ben Gorham's collab with Ikea was the most exciting candle news of the last year, enter Travis Scott. Space Rage, a new scent collaboration from Byredo and Scott, dropped quietly yesterday afternoon and sold out instantly. The $285 scent and $95 candle are meant to smell "literally like space," according to Gorham.
Though not the first scent meant to evoke the smell of space, it is quite possibly the most ambitious. Notes include cosmic dust, antimatter particles, starlight, the scent of supernova, atmospheric vapour, and dark nebulae. If none of that makes sense to you, we're not Neil deGrasse Tyson, so us either. We can only imagine it's an airy scent with mineral qualities.
The glass jar and bottle are a galactic blend of purple and blue with glow-in-the-dark lettering.
This marks Scott's first true beauty collaboration. “We met a couple of years ago, and from a friendship came the idea of a project,” Gorham told WWD. “A collaboration in the truest sense.” Scott's ex-girlfriend and mother to daughter Stormi, Kylie Jenner, launched a fragrance last year and a candle under her Kylie Skin brand several weeks ago.
Scott has partnered with many iconic fashion, food, and lifestyle brands before. Previous collaborations include sneakers with Nike, apparel with Helmut Lang, cereal boxes with Reese's Puffs, a meal with McDonald's, and even cars with Hot Wheels.
Space Rage launched quietly, without even a feed post from Scott himself. He first teased the scent on Instagram Stories yesterday morning. By the afternoon, Byredo and Cactus Jack (Scott's company) confirmed that limited quantities of Space Rage had dropped on Byredo.com and TravisScott.com. No word yet on whether or not Byredo's Space Rage will ever come back again, but for the sake of our holiday gift lists, we sure hope it does.
